Color Me Mine

In case you haven’t heard of Color Me Mine, it’s basically like an art studio for the public, you pick out a blank piece of ceramic to paint and then they glaze it for you, then after waiting a few days it’s done. I had heard of this place and it sounded really cool, so with my two favorite coworkers, Kae & Hilly, we left work early and went. I knew I would like it, but I kind of fell in love with the place, I was a kid in a candy shop for sure.

Now, they have hundreds of different choices of things you can pick to paint, they have: kitchen things, piggy banks, jewelry boxes, knobs and light switch covers. I picked a weird oval shaped vase and a candy dish. Kae picked a tall pitcher, and Hilly picked a mug. I’ll be honest I don’t really love my vase it just looks a little Easter-y to me. I think it would look cooler with just one color.. but I love my candy dish!

Then not even two weeks later I got to go again with my old roommate Alyssa and friend Jewel, while our husbands geeked out playing a new video game (Kelvin wanted to point out that it was Diablo III, not just some “video game”). This time I had picked out a cute scalloped plate I thought I might give it to my mom (we both really like scallops). Instead, I sat there for a good five minutes having no idea how I wanted to paint it so I decided just to do something else instead. I picked out two 6×6 tiles and put quotes on them. Alyssa made a small jewelry box, and Jewel made two matching bowls that had a special hole to put chopsticks in. Unfortunately I didn’t get pictures of theirs.
