Confessions of an Intern

I started an Internship this week working in the School of Technology and Computing at UVU.  I am in the Technical Support department and am going to be working on the migration of all UVU students (and some faculty) from Novell Netware to Microsoft Active Directory.  Sounds like a mouthful, right?

There was a little mis-communication error between me and the guy who will be bossing me around and I actually completely missed the first day of work (last Monday, the 3rd), oops! But I don’t think they held it against me.  The School of Technology and Computing is more far-reaching and broad than I had originally thought it to be and it is actually very inclusive of many different majors, even ones that I don’t think are all that related… such as Emergency Services and Aviation.

As far as I know it is only a summer internship, but I hope it lasts much longer, I am having fun so far (although not much work has been done because of some campus politics) and I bet that working for UVU can teach me a lot about how an Enterprise works, which is the type of  environment that I would like to work in.
