My mom is the best. Happy Mothers day!

So, continuing where we left off: I arrived to a game night at my friend Kacy’s apartment and one of the people there was Kelvin. I walked in and found a spot next to Kacy and Chad, which happened to be close to Kelvin. We were all chatting while other people played games, I don’t exactly remember introducing myself to Kelvin but I found out he went to UVU like I did, and also he was pretty funny. By this point things were getting a little weird because Kacy was pretty much ignoring her “date” Chad and only talking to Kelvin and me. At that point Chad left, so Kacy, Kelvin and I decided to go on a late night walk to the nearest grocery store for a snack.
Side note: For people who have never lived in Provo, Utah: It’s pretty much a college town full of Mormons. I hate to generalize like that, but it really is. Kids come to go to school and date. Which means dating here is a little bit different, that also means being friends with the opposite sex is a little bit different too. When looking for a relationship what usually happens is you’ll “hang out” together but with a group of people, then go on a couple of one on one dates, then have what’s called a DTR (defining the relationship) and if that goes well, officially start dating. Of course, that’s not what happened to me and Kelvin.
So off the three of us went to Macey’s (the grocery store), it was the last week of August so the weather was still warm. When we were walking there Kelvin asked me to put my number in his phone. I spent almost the entire way there trying to do so, because for some reason I could not figure his phone out. Also, the more I was around Kelvin the more I found him so hilarious. Once we got to the store I picked out my favorite chocolate ever Hershey’s nuggets, and a squirt soda.
While we were wandering around Macey’s Kelvin was trying to leave me a voicemail so that I would have his number too. But apparently I put my number in wrong so I never got it, haha. He called the number that I put in his phone and left a really long (and probably super eccentric message) to a stranger. Luckily after that Kelvin did get my correct phone number. To clarify, Kelvin was not interested in me… in fact he was interested in Kacy. Another thing you need to understand is the kind of person that Kacy is… in almost any situation it seemed like boys just tended to flock towards her.
On the way back to Kacy’s apartment it started to rain a little, so Kelvin offered his hoodie to me. Awww
When we got back to Kacy’s apartment the game night was pretty much over so Kelvin and Kacy gave me a ride home. Kacy invited me over to her parents for Sunday dinner so I’d be seeing her the next day, and as far as Kelvin I didn’t think too much about the next time I see this funny boy.

After the car fiasco we decided we just wanted to stay home and hang out for Easter instead of going anywhere. We did, however, go to Olive Garden the Saturday night before Easter and finally got to use the gift card my parents gave me :), after that we dyed eggs.

We just finished watching Battlestar Galactica (the new one), we both really enjoyed it, even more than we liked Firefly.

We’ve attended a baby shower, a reception, and two birthday party celebrations.. So we’re still being social and staying busy.

I just started running the printing press at my work instead of helping customers, so we’ll see how it goes.

I’m almost done with school, just two more weeks! Then next semester I’ll have an art class again.

Also Instagram came out for my phone this month so I’ve been taking way more pictures.

I moved to Utah the last week of August 2008, I moved here for school (and to get married, let’s be honest). When I first got here, I was pretty depressed at first. I lived in a house a couple of blocks from BYU, there was a total of 8 girls in the house. I lived in the basement with my good friend from my home stake, Cami, and her friend Katie. The problem was I was the only freshman in the house, which meant everyone already had their group of friends. I didn’t know anyone in Provo, except one girl I grew up with in California, but her family had moved to Utah when I was in Elementary school. I’ll call her Kacy. After a particularly hard day, my mom suggested to try to get in touch with with her.

I text her either later that night or the next day (the details are fuzzy now) and she happily invited me to hang out with her. The first night we met in Provo it was just her and a boy named Chad, we went to a bonfire at Kacy’s apartment, the Rain Tree. It was a fun night, I was mostly grateful to get out. She invited me to hangout the next night at her apartment for a game night with her roommates and friends. I remember walking into Kacy’s apartment, there were at least 15 people there. And Kelvin was one of them.

So, you get a list of what happened when I went home to surprise my day for his 50th birthday, and pictures of course!

• I flew home on Friday the 9th (thanks to my sister, she paid half of my plane ticket!)
• Surprised my Dad!
• Had a family BBQ on Saturday
• Had a heart attack sandwich for the first time, which is a hot link, coleslaw, and pulled pork on a hogi
• Skyped with my brother in India
• Talked about going to the beach but…
• My dad surprised us by saying” Lets go to Disneyland for two days!”
• Went to Disneyland with my two little brothers, my sister and parents
• Went to both parks, stayed till midnight both nights
• Road about 35 rides, shopped, and ate some really good food
• Went home, hung out with an old friend, Janel
• My Grandma drove me to the airport Thursday morning (thanks Grandma!)

It was a really good trip, I’m so glad I got to go California. I have a really great family and Husband.  I’m so lucky!

1. I still haven’t changed my last name even though I’ve been married for 1 year and 9 months.
2. I can’t drive a stick shift. I’ve tried to learn four times.
3. When I’m falling asleep nothing can touch my legs besides the blanket. Even my other leg can’t… I’m kind of a freak about it.
4. I probably eat In-N-Out once every other week and if Kelvin would let me I’d probably eat it every week.
5. There are five children in my family (including me). I’m the middle child.
6. I really like to sleep in. My perfect schedule is: going to bed at 2am then waking up at 10am.
7. I’m really not that big into music, I don’t have to have it going all the time, I don’t memorize lyrics, and I never listen to the radio.
8. I did dance throughout elementary school, cheerleading throughout middle school and part of high school, and drama throughout all of high school.
9. I collect old cameras and buttons.
10. I’m probably one of the least competitive people you’ll meet; I hardly ever mind being last place.

Ok so this is slightly embarrassing The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Kelvin hates that I watch it.

Honestly: staying at home, making art and delicious food.

I actually hardly ever use chapstick, it kind of bugs me for some reason. If I have to choose one, I guess Carmex.

I think it was Spice Girls…

Warm brownie with ice cream and caramel on top.
6. What was your earliest childhood memory?
This is a hard one, I think my earliest childhood memory, is of me and my best friend Lauren. We tried painting a big bucket with pink nail polish.

Hopefully done with school, and it would be lovely if we weren’t still in Utah. Definitely with a Puppy.

Kelvin did, he actually told me before we were even dating… (I might have to blog about that)

That I didn’t care about what people think of me so much.

Kelvin and I try to avoid crowds whenever possible, which means we usually go out before or after holidays. This year I planned everything, including my own present ;)

I got Kelvin the Blu-rays for Batman Begins, and Dark Knight. For myself, I got little gold heart earrings (pictured below). Also, Kelvin let me have the Valentine party with my friends, which was its own present.  He was incredibly sweet about the whole thing.  Even though I had a card making party, I forgot to give one to my own husband =/ bad wife.

We went to La Jolla Groves in Provo on Monday (the day before Valentines), it was the first time either one of us had been there.. let me just say OHMYGOSH. Such good food, I think it’s my new favorite restaurant. We couldn’t even have a normal conversation because I just repeated every five minutes how good my food was. Kelvin got cheese tortellini with bacon on top and I got lemon roasted chicken, then we got a little treat of triple chocolate mousse cake for dessert. I highly recommend it! The atmosphere was pretty cool since you’re sitting under (fake) Lemon trees and they have little twinkling lights.

On the 14th we had our traditional date at Einstein Bagels, which was nice.
